AEE Northwest Regional Conference Silent and Live Auction Donation Information
Dear Potential Donor,
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Association for Experiential Association (AEE) Northwest Region (the Northwest Region includes northwestern states of the United States and western provinces of Canada). The Association was formed in the early 1970’s and now has over 1500 members representing 35 countries. AEE is a not-for-profit, international professional organization whose mission is to develop and promote experiential education. The Association is committed to supporting professional development, theoretical advancement, and the evaluation of experiential education worldwide.
The diverse membership of AEE consists of individuals and organizations with affiliations in education, recreation, outdoor adventure, management, development and training, mental health, youth services, physical education, disabilities programming, and outdoor/environmental education. Each spring, the Northwest Region of the AEE hosts a conference in order to support the membership and further the Association’s mission. This year the 21st annual Association for Experiential Education (AEE) Northwest Region Conference 2009 is being held at the 4-H Conference and Education Center, Salem, OR on March 13-15, 2009. Various state 4-H programs, focusing on experiential education are supporting the AEE NW Region this year. This year’s theme is “Turning Points” which focuses on learning to facilitate the emergence of turning points in the lives of your students, clients, and organizations. During this conference there are multiple ways in which foundations, corporations and programs can support the Association. The monies that are raised support future initiatives that help AEE and its members. Your donation can also be an investment for you, as 150+ conference attendees are expected to attend – many of whom are influential in the companies, camps, conference centers and educational institutions they represent.
The support of individuals and organizations like you allows us to continue to affect change within education throughout the world. It is with this in mind that we respectfully request your support through the donation of a tax-deductible donation of products or services. Appropriate donations for our silent and live auctions include adventure related equipment and apparel, books, vacation packages, kayaks, canoes, teambuilding resources, keepsakes and gifts, discounted trainings, gift certificates, and anything else you might find appropriate. Donations which require a minimum bid are also welcome. Upon confirmation of the donation, you will receive a letter indicating receipt of your tax-deductible gift and your company or program will be listed alongside the other supporters of the conference in the conference program (donations must be received by March 1st for inclusion in the program).
I hope that you will consider supporting the Northwest Region and the Association and its mission to transform education worldwide. If you are unable to provide a donation of goods or services to the conference auction there are many other ways in which you can support the conference and AEE through conference sponsorships, advertisements in the registration brochure, conference program or through the purchase of an exhibit booth. Each of these options will increase your visibility as a supporter of experiential education. Sincerely,
